The PwVr protein bar – concentrated power for your muscles

What do astronauts and athletes who regularly do intensive training have in common? Quite clearly, they perform at peak physical performance. Both groups require a higher protein intake to promote muscle recovery, prevent muscle breakdown and increase performance.

The protein bar was created in the 1960s due to the special requirements of the aerospace industry. The special snack, which was new at the time, helped to conveniently integrate additional protein into the diet of space travellers. In the following decades, it was increasingly used by athletes and fitness enthusiasts to boost their own sporting performance. Over time, the protein bar also established itself as a supplementary food for weight management.

Why our protein bar saw the light of day

Nowadays, everyone is talking about protein bars, usually in the form of a power bar. High protein bars are available in abundance. But from our point of view, there was no Powerbar protein bar on the market that tasted good, provided long-lasting satiety and did not contain unnecessary sugar, artificial sweeteners, emulsifiers or preservatives. The protein content is also often (too) low. In addition, sugar alcohols cause unpleasant flatulence.

In 2022, we therefore set ourselves the goal of being able to offer a Powerbar protein bar that finally combines all these properties. With the PwVr protein bar, we were able to successfully realise our vision together with our producer. We are proud to present you with an extremely nutritious and healthy protein bar with exclusively natural ingredients, which also has a completely convincing flavour and is easy to consume.

Why we use whey for our protein bar

Whey protein is obtained from «whey», a by-product of cheese production. Numerous studies have shown that whey protein is the best supplement for successful strength training! Why is that? Put simply, whey contains all the essential amino acids that can optimally promote muscle building, muscle regeneration and fat loss. This is why whey is an integral main component in the composition of the ingredients in our protein bar. In addition, we only use organic milk for our whey protein bars

Tasty treat: Our protein bar without artificial sugar

Warning, scary fact: There are no sweet protein bars without sugar or sugar substitutes such as aspartame, sucralose or erythritol – anyone who claims otherwise is simply not telling the truth! However, when searching for products, you have the choice of how much and what type of sugar you want to consume. Not all types of sugar are «bad» or unhealthy per se. So don’t focus your research on protein bars without sugar, but rather make sure that the bar you trust doesn’t contain artificial sugar. A well-tolerated and healthy protein bar should also contain little sugar.

Artificial sugar is unhealthy because it quickly causes bloating and can lead to long-term health problems. We only use natural sugar, such as that found in honey, to sweeten our bars. This contains enzymes and antioxidants as well as other beneficial nutrients, whereas artificial sugar is largely devoid of nutrients and offers no health benefits. The sugar content of our protein bars is deliberately kept low without compromising on flavour. For the other ingredients, we use regional products labelled organic where available. Personalworkout protein bars are produced by the von Rotz confectionery without preservatives and have a shelf life of at least one month. They are gluten-free, but may contain traces of gluten. Our PwVr Powerbar protein bars are available in the delicious flavours «Beeri» and «Schoggi» and are rich in healthy ingredients.

FAQS

Is a protein bar healthy?

Several factors determine whether a protein bar is healthy. In addition to low sugar content, the quality of the ingredients and the overall nutrient composition are crucial. Healthy protein bars should contain between 10 and 20 grams of protein and only healthy fats. Avoid protein bars that use artificial sugars and unhealthy additives. Always check the nutritional information and ingredients list before purchasing or trying a product. Personalworkout offers delicious and equally healthy protein bars in two flavors that can make a valuable contribution to a balanced diet.

When should you consume protein bars?

You can use protein bars in moderation as a replacement for unhealthy snacks to curb your hunger and avoid cravings when trying to lose weight. Pay attention to the ingredients to ensure you are not consuming «hidden» calorie bombs. Protein bars are also recommended for muscle building, as they make an ideal and convenient snack before or after workouts. Additionally, they increase the protein content in your body and promote muscle recovery.

Which protein bars are the best?

The best protein bars, like our PwVr bars, are distinguished by premium protein sources such as whey from organic milk and high-quality ingredients. They contain little sugar, avoid artificial additives, and are filling. You can recognize good protein bars by their balanced ingredients, a high protein content (10 to 20 grams), and, last but not least, their taste. Even the best protein bars won’t be consumed if you find eating them a chore.

Can you eat a protein bar every day?

Protein bars should always be considered a supplement, not a primary food source. Only a varied diet ensures that you regularly receive the necessary range of nutrients. If you keep this in mind, you can also consume protein bars daily as a supplement. Be sure to pay attention to the composition and source of the ingredients and avoid bars with artificial additives and high sugar content. Our PwVr protein bar stands out with regional ingredients of premium quality, a low sugar content, and is free from artificial additives.
